Chennai Express is a 2010 Indian action film written and directed by Rohit Shetty. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Abhishek Bachchan as three people who end up on a train which has been hijacked by terrorists. Khan's character must be rescued from the terrorists but has to face conflicting interests of his wife and daughter. The movie was released worldwide on 29 November 2010 to positive reviews with critics praising the performances of the actors, especially Khan's role as a "charming rogue". The film was a commercial success becoming one of the highest grossing Bollywood films outside India with earnings of over 3 billion. The film garnered positive reviews from critics with praise towards the performances of its lead actors, especially Shah Rukh Khan's role as a "charming rogue".The film's music is composed by Pritam. The soundtrack features six original songs that are sung by Neeraj Shridhar, Shaan, K K, Udit Narayan, Shreya Ghoshal and Pritam himself. On 30 August 2011 the film became the first Hindi movie to be released in all the Gulf countries. The film's satellite rights were sold to season 2 of SET MAX for . The song "Lungi Dance" from the film has been copied from the John Denver song "Country Roads". The writer of the song, Peter Allen, and publisher Larrikin Music Publishing claim that they did not receive royalties for its use. Sony Music Entertainment India has kept the film's music rights outside of India. On 21 February 2011, Sony Music Entertainment (India) Pvt Ltd announced that it had acquired all rights to release and distribute Rohit Shetty's "Chennai Express" in Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.
